Trina McCowan Adams is the Director of Library Services at the Proctor Library of Flagler College, where she combines her love of research, assessment, and creative endeavors to create better library experiences for students and faculty.
With a background in graphic design and nearly two decades of experience in academic libraries, she has developed a leadership style that balances creative vision and practicality.
A recognized voice in the intersection of librarianship and emerging technologies, Trina is deeply engaged in exploring generative AI’s role in higher education, particularly within library services and information literacy instruction. Her work emphasizes critical AI literacy, helping students and faculty understand how AI systems shape information creation, interpretation, and retrieval, and examines the societal impacts of algorithmic bias and data ethics. She is the author of "Prompt Playbook: Prompt Engineering for Academic Librarians," a practical guide that empowers librarians to integrate generative AI into academic workflows effectively and ethically.
